Why
You Should Use The Services of Bid It
Adieu |
|
Bid It Adieu has been an eBay seller
since 2004. Our experience and status
in the eBay community are qualities
buyers seek in making a successful
purchase on eBay.
Some
FAQs (Frequently
Asked Questions) we've received from
our clients in the past. If you still
have a question that isn't answered
here, please
contact us. |
|
Can I sell my own items on eBay?
Yes, of course you can be an eBay seller. But, if
you’re not computer-savvy or just don’t
have the time or interest, let us do it
for you. Take a minute to check out our
current auction items - you will see that our listings are
unique, professional and a reflection of
our knowledge and reputation - they
are second to none on eBay. Also,
because we have several items listed at
one time (usually over 450), we generate
more views for each item and in turn
obtain a higher sale price on your
item.

If Bid It Adieu lists my items, when will I see them on eBay?
Generally, we will list your item within 2 weeks of
taking possession and run the auction
for 7 days.
(Click here to return to the top.)
Are there risks in selling my item
online?
There are risks in any transaction, but selling online
is much safer than inviting a buyer
you've never met, a stranger, to
your home or making arrangements to meet
with them elsewhere. eBay and PayPal
have put many safeguards in place to
keep the instances of fraud low. Also,
as there are risks, we make every effort
to minimize them by having strict terms
of service. We insulate you, our client,
from having to assume any risk on eBay.
eBay is based on community values and
most of our experiences have been
positive.
(Click here to return to the top.)
Are you an expert on all the
items you sell?
No, of course not! We do have some areas of knowledge
and often augment this knowledge by
researching some of the items we list
for clients, but, ultimately, it is up
to you to provide us some information
about your items to guide us in creating
the descriptions.
(Click here to return to the top.)
How do you know what my item is worth?
We don’t necessarily know what your item is worth. But
using our advanced software system, our
auction experts will research your item
using information gathered from millions
of past eBay auctions to determine an
approximate resale value.
(Click here to return to the top.)
How did you determine your fees?
We incur costs through the eBay and PayPal transaction
fees and for our labor involved in
selling, packing and shipping your
items. These are a substantial portion
of the fees we charge to you. We make
every effort to get the greatest
exposure on your items. And, we consider
you and Bid It Adieu to be partners,
working together to generate the best
possible profit for us both.
We don’t make a profit unless your item
sells!

Other
Things You Need to Know |
|
What do I have to do?
Nothing. Bid It Adieu will handle the complete process for you. Once in our possession...
1. Your item(s) will be skillfully photographed and a
comprehensive narrative will be written
to ensure your auction receives a
fantastic response.
2. Throughout the length of the auction, Bid It Adieu will
communicate with potential buyers.
3. Handle all related transactions, including packing and
shipping your items.
3. Once the sale is complete and the winning buyer has
received your item we will write you a
check and provide you with a printed
report of your sales.
(Click here to return to the top.)
Why do I have to give you my items before you will list them?
We have to photograph, weigh and accurately describe
your item prior to the auction and ship
the item immediately upon
receipt of payment from the winning
bidder. Our reputation on eBay is
crucial to us - one of the worst
infractions on eBay is to not have the
item available to ship when promised.
You can see the importance of this part
of the transaction when you read
what buyers say.
(Click here to return to the top.)
Why would you decline to list my item?
If we don’t believe it will sell for reasons based on
our experience or is prohibited under
eBay’s terms of service or community
values - or our own terms of service, we
will decline listing your item.

Just
a Few More Things We'd Like To Mention |
There are some other things we want you to know about.
Can I cancel an auction before it ends?
No, our eBay reputation is at stake. An in-progress
cancellation, particularly when bids have been
made on an item, has serious repercussions in
the eBay community. That said, it can be done in
extreme instances, but you will incur a
financial penalty from us for doing so, as per
our
Terms & Conditions - Consignment Agreement.
(Click here to return to the top.)
Can I or my friend bid on my item?
NO!
Called shill bidding - this is against the terms
of service on eBay and Bid It Adieu. Doing so is
often a way to artificially manipulate the sales
price of an item and is an unethical and illegal
practice. For more information please review
eBay's tutorial.
(Click here to return to the top.)
What if a buyer returns my item to you?
This rarely happens, and if it does, we issue a refund
to the bidder, then offer the item to another
bidder, if any. We may also re-list the item or
return it to you, depending on the
circumstances. By allowing us to take the
possession of the item, accurately photograph
and describe it, the likelihood of
misrepresenting your item in the auction listing
is minimized, thus, the risk of your item being
returned is also minimized.
(Click here to return to the top.)
What if the winning bidder doesn’t pay?
This does happen occasionally on eBay. We will file an
unpaid item complaint with eBay and make every
effort to receive payment, but if the customer
doesn’t pay, we will either re-list your item,
offer it to another bidder or return it to you.
